Analytics #
Get clear insights into exactly what your customers ask about, and how Chat replies to them.
With the dedicated Analytics, you can check key metrics like number of chats, time saved and revenue generated.
With Logs & conversations you can dig into each individual conversation to see how your customers interact with the Chat.
Installation #
Chat requires Clerk.js to be installed. If you are using one of our prebuilt Integrations, you are most likely already running Clerk.js.
Activating #
Go to Settings > Features and scroll to Early Access Features.
Enable the setting Chat.
If you haven’t already, make sure to also activate Search v3 as this is a requirement for Chat.
Wait 5-10 minutes. A new data analysis will run to get Chat ready.
In the meantime, you can configure it from Settings > Chat Configuration.
If you have issues with Chat giving replies, it’s because the Analysis is still running. Wait another few minutes and try again.
You can check the status of the analysis in System Status > Data Sync
Testing #
We recommend that you preview and configure Chat in your Demo Store.
You can find this in my.clerk.io under Settings > Store Settings > Explore Demo Store.
Conversations in the Demo Store are not included in Usage, are not logged and will not show up in your Analytics.
Going live #
When you are ready for your customers to interact with Chat, do this:
Go to Settings > Chat Configuration > Chat Visibility.
Select In my live site.
Click Save.
Open or refresh your webshop URL.
The Chat icon will now be visible in the lower right corner.
