Order Segmentation

Target customers based on the timing and value of their orders
Order Segmentation

Basics #

Most of Clerk.io’s Audience features revolve around predicting customer behavior. However, for some marketing purposes, a more simple approach may be needed.

Order Segmentation is just that; a way to create segments based solely on the amount of orders, their timing, and average order value.

Order Options #

You can segment based on either one or multiple different options for orders.

Orders Count #

Segments are based on a specific amount of orders. You can choose either an exact amount, less than, or more than a given amount. This can be useful if you want to define your own Loyalty groups based on the amount of orders.

It can also be used for specifically targeting customers just outside, for example, your Frequent Buyers group, to try and get them to become more engaged with your webshop.

Orders Avg. Value #

Segments are based on the average revenue per order. This can be useful to identify customers with lower average order values that you want to reactivate by trying to cross-sell with more products based on earlier purchases.

Made An Order #

Segments are based on a date or timeframe in which customers must have placed an order. This can be useful if you want to target customers that made a purchase during a campaign period, on Black Friday, or during a sale.

Made First Order #

Segments are based on a date or timeframe in which customers must have placed their first order.

This can be useful to retarget customers where you have since gotten a better alternative to a product they bought, or new terms have applied that they should be notified of.

Made Last Order #

Segments are based on a date or timeframe in which customers must have placed their last order.

This can be useful if you want to reach out to customers who have not made a purchase since you got a of new products, changed your prices, or other significant changes that they might not have seen yet.
